Help With Hunger By Donating Today!

Make A Real Change In Someone’s Life

Maryland is one the wealthiest states in the nation based on per capita income, yet more than 1 in 10 households, live in poverty and struggle against hunger. Food insecurity means that children go to school with empty stomachs, that parents, grandparents, and other caregivers skip meals so that children can eat.

While 12.4% of children under 18 in Maryland are considered to be living in poverty, that rate is higher for Washington County at 18.7% of children living in poverty.

The South County Food Pantry is a nonprofit serving approximately 150-200 people each month in southern Washington County, Maryland, including Boonsboro, Keedysville, Pleasant Valley, Sandy Hook, Sharpsburg and part of Greenbrier.

We operate on a very limited budget, most of which comes from private sources, and gratefully welcome donations of canned goods such as soup, vegetables, fruits, meats, and other non-perishable foods such as cereal, boxed pasta, instant mashed potatoes, bagged snacks, etc.
